The Urbana Daily Citizen
A. Marie McLemore, age 71, of North Lewisburg died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 
at Riverside Methodist Hospital with her family at her side after suffering a 
massive stroke.
She was formerly employed with Marysville School's Latchkey program at East 
Elementary and through the years had worked with The Scotts Company, Nestles, 
and Jimmy D Cleaners. She was a faithful and active member of the North 
Lewisburg United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and will be 
remembered for her generous spirit and genuine concern for others.
Marie loved socializing with friends, especially playing cards each Wednesday 
and playing bingo at the YMCA and on Senior Day at the Union County Fair. She 
was active with the Windsor Seniors, the Community and Seasoned Citizens, the 
Bellefontaine Friendly Senior Citizens, the Hill and Valley Club, and Twig #4. 
She was a graduate of Northwestern Local High School. She enjoyed gardening 
and bicycling and treasured time spent with her family playing board games and 
camping. She will be missed beyond measure.

She was born May 2, 1939, in Cincinnati, the ninth of 11 children, to the late 
Irving L. and Augusta LaWarre Shreve. She married her best friend, Billy Ray 
McLemore, in November of 1960, and he preceded her in death on October 11, 
2004. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary & Dottie, and by 5 
brothers, Harry, Richard, Irving, Nick, and Bill.

Survivors include her 3 children, Robert (Peggy) McLemore, Marysville; Cindy 
(Kelly) Spurlock, Dayton; and Billiejo (Stewart) Anderson, Bellefontaine; 8 
grandchildren, Ryan, Rachelle, Tara, Justin, Casey, Jamie, Kyle, and Steven; 
her sister, Shirley (George) Bell, Tipp City; 2 brothers, Frank Shreve, 
Marysville; and Doug Shreve, Bellefontaine; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-
law, many nieces and nephews, special friends, Sandi & Tom Black, Kathryn 
LaWarre, Florence Parrish, Mary Lou Huffman, Drew & Betty Adams, Gail & Sue 
Gregory, and Pastor Kathy Reiff; many other friends too numerous to mention, 
and a very good friend and companion, her pet poodle Pepper.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Mannasmith 
Funeral Home where the funeral will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011, at 
10:30 a.m. Reverend Kathy Reiff will officiate and burial will take place at 
Oakdale Cemetery.
