Mrs. B.W. Merritt, 70, life long resident of Miami County died this morning at 
her home in Lena.  
She was born May 22, 1862, the daugther of Mr and Mrs Miover Worthington, 
pioneer family of eastern Miami County.  Mrs. Merritt was a member of the 
Baptist church at Lena.
She leaves six children, a son Rev Raymond Merritt, five daughters Mrs. Ola 
Manning, Mrs Donna Brautigan, Mrs. Mary Baker and Mrs. Jennie Neff and Miss 
Bertha Merritt.  A daughter Mrs Martha Fitzpatrick died two years ago.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three sisters.
The sisters are Mrs Bessie Angelbarger, Mrs. Jennie Watkins and Miss Mary 
Worthinton
Services will be conducted at Lena Baptist church by Rev. Samuel Furrow paster 
of First Baptist church of Urbana assisted by Rev. E.E. Denlinger.  Burial 
will be made in Spring Grove
