He was born on March 13, 1920 in Miami County, the son of the late William and Faye (Wright) Mott. He married Mary E. Hart on October 26, 1940 and she survives. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Garner Mott. Ray was a member of the Crossroad Baptist Church in New Carlisle. He retired in 1984 from Hobart Brothers, Troy, he was formerly employed by Duplex Mills, Springfield, and he engaged in farming. He loved to play Bridge and was a member of several area Bridge Clubs. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris, Ohio with Reverend Wayne Mott, Assistant Pastor of Harvest Baptist Temple, Clyde, Ohio presiding and Reverend R.C. McDonald of Crossroad Baptist Church, New Carlisle assisting. Burial will follow in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, N. Elm Tree Road, St. Paris.
