James E. Mullins, 89, of Springfield, died Saturday morning, March 30, 2013, in 
his residence.

He was born March 5, 1924, in Clay Co., W.Va., a son of Alvin and Eva (Samples) 
Mullins.

James, a graduate of Clay County High School in W.Va., owned and operated 
several businesses throughout his career.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Lewis of Columbus, several nieces, nephews, 
great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann (Saunders) Mullins, and 
four brothers, Emil, Paul, John and Charles.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, 
2013, in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St., Urbana, with the 
service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
