Neer, 89, of Urbana, died Sept. 26, 2006 at 1:35 p.m. in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana. She was born March 12, 1917 in Springfield, Ohio to Walter and Ethel (Hendricks) Gridley. She graduated from Catawba High School, class of 1936 and retired from Urbana local schools after seven years as a teacher's aide. Margaret graduated from Mercy Medical Nursing School, class of 1962 as an LPN, was a member of the Philea Club for 65 years, the Buckreek Club and her passions in life were reading and playing games with her family. She is survived by four daughters; Carolyn (Carl) Roemer of Urbana, Gaye (Bob) Bowers of Waterford, WI., Virginia (Dan) McBride of Hudson Falls, NY and Pamela (Dennis) Clift of St. Paris, OH.; grandchildren, Melissa (Ron) Kauffman, Susie (John) Lyons, David Channell, Brian Hurd, Beth (Bill) Mattke, Megan (Mike) Donahoe, Brent (Chris) Bowers, Shawn (Katie) McBride, Alisa (Chris) Baker, Chris McBride, Zachary Sherman, Emily Sherman, Luke Sherman, Eli Sherman; twenty one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph Neer on June 2, 1985; four sisters, Grace O'Connor, Harriett Bowron, Anna Fitzgiven, Martha Daily; three brothers, Chester Gridley, Roger Gridley and Robert Gridley. She was always Grandma Neer to every child she met. Family will receive friends 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 in the WALTER- SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, Urbana where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006 with Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Urbana United Methodist Youth, 238 N. Main St., Urbana, OH. 43078.
