Littleton and Rue Funeral Home
G. JUANITA NIECE, 86, of Springfield and formerly of Urbana passed away 
Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. 

She was born September 20, 1924 in West Union, Ohio, the daughter of Chester 
R. and Edna Mae (Crummie) Thatcher. 

She was a graduate of Urbana High School and a member of the Eastern Star. 

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Stephen Smith of 
Springfield; one sister, Virginia Zea of Dayton; nieces and nephews, Diana 
Morgan, Wayne Nicely, Ruth Heymann, Bruce Reedy, Dr. Bonnie Dean, Belinda 
Vallo and Betty Bosworth and close friends, Shelley Wallace, Kitty Phlippi and 
Tim and Monica Pennington. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Harry Franklin 
Niece Jr. in June of 2002; sisters, Mary (Don) Shear, Lorena (Max) Nicely, 
Martha (Roger) Reedy, John Vea and Ethel Jean Thatcher. 

On behalf of Juanita's family, they would like to thank Dr. Imitaz Ahmed, Dr. 
Dennis Sullivan and the nursing staff on the third floor of the Springfield 
Regional Medical Center for their excellent care for Juanita. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Clark County Humane 
Society and PAWS/Urbana. 

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the 
Evergreen Cemetery in St. Paris, Ohio with Reverend Diana Chamberlin 
officiating.
