The Piqua Daily Call abstract
James "Jim" R. Pence Sr., age 72, of Saint Paris passed away at 1:05 a.m. on 
Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1933 in Sidney, Ohio. He was the son of the late 
William and Bessie Pence. He married Linda Jean Lewis in 1957 and she preceded 
him in death in 1990.  Jim was a 1953 graduate of Johnson-St. Paris. School. 
He served in the U.S. Army as a cook, was a member of the St. Paris First 
Baptist Church and retired in 2001 from Graham Local Schools. Funeral services 
will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the ATKINS-SHIVELY 
FUNERAL HOME, 216 S. Springfield St., Saint Paris with Rev. Dr. James VanZile 
of the First Baptist Church of St. Paris presiding. Burial will be in Upper 
Honey Creek Cemetery, South Elm Tree Road, St. Paris.
