Norma Lee was born on October 14,1931 in Champaign County, a daughter of the late Verle and Rosella (Allebach) Everett. She married Richard Pine on March 3,1951 and he survives. Together they raised three children, two of whom survive: Julie Welty (Doug Wetzel) of Christiansburg, and Debra (Steve) Cook of Quincy. She was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Bradley (Lisa) Pine of Mechanicsburg; Ryan (Traci) Pine of Rosewood; Rebecca Pine and partner Niki Davis of Louisville, KY; Jennifer Dudley (Bob Glassmeyer) of Christiansburg; Kim (Jason) Haddix of Marysville; Colby Cook of Quincy and six great grandchildren, Hannah, Cody, Morgan, Marissa, Maley and Jake. Norma Lee is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Smail and Marguerite Calland, both of Urbana and Jim (Sharon) Everett of Colorado Springs, CO. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Pine in 1991, and two sisters, Arleen Baughman and Susan Starling. Norma Lee was the valedictorian of her class, graduating in 1949 from Harrison Adams School in Rosewood. She was a member of the Rosewood United Methodist Church and served on the American Legion Auxiliary. She was the Adams Township clerk for several years and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, and cooking for family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris with the Reverend Andy Leighty of the Rosewood United Methodist Church and the Reverend Barry Baughman presiding. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, N.
