PORTER, Walter Louis "Pop" passed from this life into eternity on September 
28, 2008 at Community Hospital Springfield, Ohio. "Pop" Porter was born June 
16, 1916 and was married to InaBelle (Johnson) Porter his loving wife of 68 
years. He retired from Dayton Power and Light in 1979. He was a devoted 
father, grandfather, and friend, and all that knew him know that he never met 
a stranger. He was an avid camper and coin collection. He traveled extensively 
across the United States and the Caribbean. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, Walter and Hattie Porter; two brothers Albert and Dennis; two sisters 
Harriet and Juanita. He is survived by his wife InaBelle; two sisters-in-law 
Ruth Porter and Verna Johnson and 5 children, Lois Jean Minney (Norman), 
Walter Douglas Porter (Charlotte "Mitzi"), James Herbert Porter (Michelle), 
Albert Lee Porter (Carlin), Janine Annette Manuel; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-
grandchildren and 2 nieces and two special nieces. Service for Walter Porter 
will be held Friday, October 3, 2008, Jerusalem Second Baptist Church, 1036 
South High Street, Urbana, Ohio. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. with the family 
present at 12 noon until time of service which will be at 1 p.m. with the Rev. 
Myson Crosswhite officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery, 
Urbana, Ohio
