Virgil retired after 42 years of service at Howard Paper Mill - Fox River. He was a member of the Urbana Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and singing. Virgil was a dedicated and devoted servant of the Lord. He was saved under the preaching of Willard Wilcox on April 14,1981 and was baptized on May 31,1981. He enjoyed serving the Lord in many ways. He especially loved singing and playing the bass. Virgil was a member of the following gospel groups; Sunshine Singers, Searching Lights and the Anchored. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty (Baumgardner) Price, his son, Terry (Mary Jo) Price of Urbana and his children, Amy Jo (Jon) Davis of Springfield, David E. Price of Toledo & Michael Price of Urbana, his daughter, Susan Bowsher and her children, Amanda, Justin & Nathan Terrell all of Urbana, his great grandchildren, Ian Davis, Anna Davis, Tori Sansam, Seth Sansam, Colton Combs & Hayden Terrefr, nis sister, Joyce Rivet of Ulysses, KY, his brother, Leon (Gwynn) Borders of Gatesvifte, TX, his sister-in-law, Barbara Jo Borders of Ulysses, KY; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosemary Richards of Midway, Nancy (Jesse) Harding of Urbana, Carolyn Callison of Urbana, Melody (Tom) Free of Springfield, Howard "Bud" Neer of Urbana, Frank (Marilyn) Baumgardner of Thackery, Jim (Karen) of Baumgardner of Urbana, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his father, Robert Price and his mother & stepfather, Carmie (Brickies) & Glen Borders, his brother, Howard Borders, his sisters, Vivian Helms and Doris Russell; his brothers and sisters- in-laws, Jim Richards, Jerry Callison and Kay Neer. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in the Urbana Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the church with Rev. Grant Cordell officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbana Freewill Baptist Church, 1658 E. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078. Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
