He was born May 18, 1909, in Champaign County, to the late J. Guy and Ella (Clem) Putnam. Paul was a lifelong farmer, a lifetime member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and Farm Bureau and was the past president of the Harrison Adams School Board in Rosewood. His entire life, he was passionate about poetry. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn Lucille (Friend) Putnam, who died in 2002; his son, Kermit Putnam; his son-in-law, Virgil Bair; and a granddaughter, Krista Putnam. Surviving are his daughter, Kay and her husband Fred Booher of Beavercreek; daughter-in-law, Dolores (Putnam) Bair; grandchildren, Katherine (Kent) Sommers of New Paris, Ind., Karen Putnam of Westerville, Kenneth (Tina) Putnam of Tipp City, Shawnie (Dan) Price of Montgomery, Ala. and Donald (Kristen) Booher of Germantown; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 West Main Street, Tipp City with the Rev. Jack Chalk and Daniel Price officiating.
