"Al" Remerowski, 78, of Urbana, passed away at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 in Heartland of Urbana. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on July 12,1924, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Ciezynski) Remerowski and was raised on Beethoven Street (Polish Town) in Pittsburgh. Al retired on April 1,1964 as a technical sergeant with the United States Air Force after 20 years of service which in-eluded World War II and both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He and his wife operated Remerowski's Orchard, Urbana, since 1964. On June 30, 1980, Al retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in the city of Urbana. Mr. Remerowski was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Paris, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Post No. 31, Urbana. His other memberships include the Ohio Farm Bureau of Champaign County, Frtfit Growers Society of Ohio and National Association of Letter Carriers, Urbana chapter. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn (Knese) Remerowski of Urbana who he married on Aug. 22, 1959; a daughter, Patricia (Spencer) Brooks of Matawan, N.J.; two grandchildren, Michael Aloysius and Lois Marie Brooks, both of New Jersey; one brother, Joe (Esther) Remerowski of Canton; one sister, Marie (Tim) McGuiggan of Turtle Creek, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Rem-erowski; two brothers, Frank and Ed Remerowski; and two sisters, Vicky Lubonski and Claire Garforth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 121 East Walnut St., St. Paris, with the Rev. Greg Konerman officiating and assisted by Fr. John Perryman. Interment will take place in Spring Grove Cemetery. St. Paris. Military graveside services will be conducted by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Richeson- Wickham and Atkins Funeral Home, 216 S.
