The Urbana Daily Citizen
Donald E. Rhodes, 86, of Urbana, passed away, August 18, 2013, in his 
residence. He was born June 5, 1927, in Urbana to Alpha W. and Flossie M. 
(Shaffer) Rhodes. Donald was a 1945 graduate of Westville High School, a member 
of Terre Haute United Methodist Church and a retired farmer. He was an avid 
sports fan, especially the Graham Falcons and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is 
survived by a sister, Lois (Roger) Knight of Bartlett, Tennessee; a brother, 
Richard Rhodes of Perrysburg, Ohio; Aunt Helen Rader of Urbana; numerous 
nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and a 
brother, Lowell Rhodes. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 
a.m. until noon on Thursday, August 22, 2013, in the Terre Haute United 
Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at noon in the church with 
Pastor David Yinger officiating. 
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
