Funeral Home-abstract
Shirley Rice, age 80, of Urbana and formerly of Saint Paris passed away at 
7:05 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 in the McAuley Center. Born on 
September 11, 1932 in Urbana, Shirley was a daughter of the late Wayne and 
Francis (Hagenbuch) Davis. She married John Rice on April 11, 1953 and he 
preceded her in death on February 13, 2010. Shirley was a member of the Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church, St. Paris. She was a member of the American Legion Post 
#0286 Ladies Auxiliary in New Carlisle. When she was able she enjoyed her Red 
Hat Society friends in Fairborn. Shirley formerly worked as an aid in 
Lawnview, Urbana. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 
at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 121 E. Walnut Street with 
Father Greg Konerman presiding. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. 
Paris. One hour of visitation will be held in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 
216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, on Saturday October 6, 2012 from 10:00 
a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church, C/O St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 231 Washington Avenue, Urbana, Ohio
