ROBERTS, John Allen 67 of Urbana passed away Monday, May 18, 2009. He was born 
February 19, 1942 in Rosewood, Ohio, the son of John Bernard and Bonnie M. 
(Buck) Roberts. John was a 1960 graduate of Urbana Local High School. He 
served his country in the United States Navy during the time of the Vietnam 
Conflict. He retired from the Veterans Administration in Dayton. He was a 
certified Dental Technician for 24 years and a Systems Analyst for 8 years. He 
is survived by his sister, Linda K. Roberts of Urbana, his brother-in-law, Ron 
McAlister of Urbana, his nephew, Rick A. McAlister of Asheville N. C., his 
aunts, Gladys Thompson & Dolores Broadstone both of Urbana, several cousins, 
many friends and his beloved dog Bea. He is preceded in death by his parents; 
sister, Doris L. McAlister. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on 
Friday, May 22, 2009 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME Urbana with Pastor David 
VanHoose officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 
funeral services. Entombment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery Mausoleum, 
Urbana.
