Diana L. Sammons, age 81, of Urbana passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 in her 
residence.
Born on December 26, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, Diana was a daughter of the late 
Russell C. and Pauline L. (Boardman) Hartley. She married Lafayette Sammons on 
November 2, 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 17, 1999. She is 
survived by two nieces: Jackie Arnold and Katrina Pearson of Urbana; two 
nephews; Gregory Pearson of Urbana and Rick Pearson of Columbus; a great niece, 
Whitney Arnold of Urbana and three great nephews, Travis Pearson of Urbana, 
Sheldon Pearson of Bellefontaine, Thorpe Connoley of Urbana; and brother-in-
law, Rodney Pearson of Urbana. In addition to her parents and husband she was 
preceded in death by a daughter, Paulae Evans and one sister, Jane L. Pearson.
She was formerly employed at WPAFB, Fairborn in procurement.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at noon in the Atkins-
Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio. Burial will 
follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, N. Heck Hill Road, Saint Paris.
