Funeral Home-abstract
SCOTT, Jennie J. (Derksen) 86, formerly of Dayton, Beavercreek and Lakeview 
passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 9:25 a.m. in Good Shepherd Village, 
Springfield. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 27, 1918, the daughter 
of the late Peter and Antje (Mooy) Derksen. Mrs. Scott was a 1937 graduate of 
Saint Paris High School and a 1942 graduate of Miami University, Oxford with a 
Bachelor of Science degree in Math, English and Home Economics. On August 15, 
1943, Jennie married Asa Clem Scott. He passed away of February 21, 1954. In 
addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two 
brothers, John and Peter Derksen; three sisters, Nellis (Derksen) Barlow, 
Vrouke (Derksen) Moore and infant, Anna Derksen. Jennie was a retired employee 
of the United States Postal Service, Dayton. She resided in the Dayton area 
for most of her life and was an active volunteer for Camp Fire Girls and Boy 
Scout of America. She was a former member of both the Residence Park E.U.B. 
Church, Dayton and the Aley United Methodist Church, Beavercreek.The family 
will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the 
Richeson-Wickham and Atkins Funeral Home, 216 South Springfield Street, Saint 
Paris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. 
in the Convenant Lutheran Church, 103 South Church Street, Saint Paris, with 
Reverend Gerald Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen 
Cemetery, Saint Paris. Published in the Springfield News-Sun on 1/4/2005.
