He was born in Urbana, Ohio on November 23, 1924, the son of the late Lyman and Leafa (Viets) Sells. Forrest attended Urbana High School and served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired employee of Navistar, Springfield, had been self-employed as an electrician, and had also been engaged in farming. Forrest was an avid outdoorsman, dearly loved to fox hunt, and enjoyed watching and feeding his purple martins. Survivors include his daughter, Loretta (Steve) Runkle Runkle of Saint Paris; two sons, Pete (Sonja) Sells and Forrest "Storm" (Peg) Sells, both of Saint Paris; ten grandchildren, Marc and Ty Bogan, both of Saint Paris, Thad (Lidzia) Bogan of Mechanicsburg, Scott Sells, Amy Lawson, and Levi Runkle Runkle, all of Urbana, Jeff (Tammy) Sells of Rosewood, Brian (Michelle) Sells of DeGraff, Tony (Emily) Sells of Sidney, and Jason Runkle of Florence, South Carolina; ten great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (Imo) Sells and Jim (Sharon) Sells, both of Urbana, Dick Sells of Kennard, and Johnny "Jack" (Isabel) Sells of Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Bea (Bud) Jewell of Marysville, Betty (Dave) Black of Bellefontaine, and Mary (Dick) Jordan of West Liberty; and numerous nieces and nephews. Forrest will also be missed by his extended family, Debbie, Matt and Angie Finkes and Jeff (Kathy) Rust and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Buddy and Raymond Sells and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the RICHESON-WICKHAM AND ATKINS FUNERAL HOME, 216 South Springfield Street, Saint Paris, with Reverend William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by Philip Grieser Post 7645, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Keith Cretors Post 148, American Legion, both of Saint Paris. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
