Wanda M. Smail, age 89, of DeGraff passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 
9, 2013, in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. Born on March 31, 1924, in 
Johnson Township, Champaign County, Ohio, Wanda was a daughter of the late 
Verle “Red” and Rosella (Allebach) Everett. She married Ralph D. Smail in 1955 
and he preceded her in death in 1978.  She is survived by one son, Glen Smail 
of DeGraff; a brother, James (Sharon) Everett of Colorado Springs, CO; a 
sister, Marguerite Calland, of Urbana; and several nieces and nephews.  In 
addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three 
sisters, Susan Starling, Arleen Baughman and Norma Lee Pine. Wanda was a 1942 
graduate of Adams Twp. High School, Rosewood. She worked for Champaign Landmark 
in Urbana until the birth of Glen. She then became a homemaker. Wanda will be 
sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 
April 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. 
Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio, with Reverend Barry Baughman presiding. 
Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, N. St. Rt. 235, Conover.
