The Urbana Daily Citizen abstract
Ruth Smith, 91, formerly of North Hampton, Ohio, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, 
at Heartland of Springfield, Springfield, Ohio. She was born Feb. 7, 1910, in 
Champaign County, Ohio, a daughter of Forest D. and Lina May (Gearhart) 
Stevens. She was a retired registered nurse from the Ohio Masonic Home, a 
lifetime member of the Miami Valley Hospital Alumni Association, the Women's 
Christian Temperance Union, and was a member of the United Church of Christ, 
North Hampton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, 
Orval; a grandson, Thomas L. Smith; and a brother, Waldo.  Friends may call 
from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, in the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN & CHRISTMAS 
FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, 
Aug. 13, 2001, at the United Church of Christ, North Hampton, Ohio, with 
Pastor James Welch officiating. Burial in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery.
