She was born June 16,1927, in Tallaquah, Okla., the daughter of the late James and Lola (Swearingin) Petty. She is survived by her husband, Garnard Smith, whom she married June 19,1948. Together they raised two sons, Michael (Marion Jo) Smith of St. Paris and Terry (Betty Sue) Smith, also of St. Paris Imogene was a loving grandmother of three grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Smith and husband Alfredo Venegas of Mexico, Billie Jo (David) Blevins of St. Paris and Dustin Smith, also of St Paris; and four great-grandchildren, Michael and Cherokee Blevins of St. Paris and Alyssa and Luke Venegas of Mexico. She is also survived by three sisters, Lois Hardesty of Troy, Elizabeth Ann Wright of Piqua and Donna Jean Mayo, also of Piqua; and five brothers, Howard Petty of Piqua, James Petty of Versailles, Ronald Petty of Marshall, Mich., Charles PIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Anne Smith; one brother, Kenneth Petty; and two sisters, Linda Sue Clark and Juanita Long. Imogene worked as a cook at the Graham Junior High, retiring in 1989 after 25 years of service. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery, W. Troy Street, St. Paris, with the Reverend David Kepple of the St. Paris United Methodist Church presiding. Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S.
