He was the most beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. John will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was born January 18, 1938 in Milford Center, Ohio to Thomas B. and Elma (Mingus) Snyder. Mr. Snyder was retired from Big Bear Stores after 37 years of service, having served as Director of Meat Operations. He was also the director of Catering for Big Bear at the annual Picnic with The Pops. He was an avid supporter of Ohio State University Athletic programs especially the women's basketball program. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death are Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Robert and Nellie Cooper; brother-in- law Harold L. McGill. Survivors include his loving wife Nancy whom he married August 21, 1960; his loving daughters and son-in-law Connie (Dennis) Gleason of Grandview and Debra Snyder, Ph.D. of Mt. Vernon; his cherished grandson and granddaughter Jonathan and Cathleen Gleason; brother and sister-in-law Paul (Juanita) Snyder of Buena Park, California; sisters and brothers-in-law Louella (Jack) Bailey, Karen (Ron) Faulkner, Cheryl (Steve) Uhlenbrock, and Dorothy McGill, all of Urbana; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Patricia Koerner, Shirley (Larry) Burden of Urbana and Robert (Cheri) Cooper of Bellefontaine; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL 3920 Broadway, Grove City where the funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday.
