Stayman breathed his last at his home on Scioto street shortly before 2 o'clock. He was 84 years of age and had been in poor health for some time. He was born in western Ohio in March 1831 and after a short residence in DeGraff came to Urbana in 1850, having been a resident of this city for the past 65 years. In 1864 he was united in marriage to Mary Piersol of Union County, who together with two sons survives. The sons are Clifford Stayman of Columbus and Fred C. of Chicago, Ill. The deceased was a carpenter and erected many of the houses now standing in this city. He was a member of the First Methodist church for more than forty years and while in good health was a regular attendant. The funeral will be held tomorrow [Tues] evening at 7:30 at the late home. Rev. J. H. Denney, pastor of the First M. E. Church, will have charge of the services. Burial will be made in Oak Dale cemetery Wednesday morning and will be private.
