Phil K. STEPHENSON, 53, of West Liberty, died Wednesday, September 11, 1996 at 
10:30 a.m. at home. He was born in Urbana, December 27, 1942 to Ray and Mary 
(Bowers) Stephenson. He was employed by Cooper Industries of Springfield. He 
is survived by aunts, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Shaw, Mrs. Clemen (Helen) Diebert 
both of Urbana, and Mrs. Harold (Esther) Boles of Kalamazoo, Michigan; uncles, 
Donald (Doris) Bowers of Urbana, Clifford (Jenny) Bowers of Westerville; and 
many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Stephenson on May 
29, 1996; and father, Ray, in 1943; and aunt, Dorothy McDaniel. He graduated 
from Graham High School and the Dayton Art Institute. He attended Concord 
United Methodist Church and was a former ski instructor at Mad River Mountain. 
Family will received friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Walter-
Shoedinger Funeral Home, Urbana, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 
10 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Frank James officiating. Burial in Oak Dale 
Cemetery.
