Mr Samuel Deaton Stevens was born in Shenandoah Co, VA, January 10, 1852, 
having lived seven days over 60 years when death took place Saturday, January 
17, 1914. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Riley Stevens who came to Ohio with his 
parents when a boy. His aged mother who was a Deaton resides in Springfield. 
He is survived by a wife and five children. He leaves three sons; Warren lives 
in Columbus, Walter of Columbus Groves, OH, and Warder who lives at home. He 
also leaves two daughters, Mrs AF Mumford and Mrs Edward Thackery. Three 
brothers and two sisters also survive, JH Stevens, MG Stevens and Lincoln 
Stevens. The sisters are Mrs James Hartman and Mrs Dr Gaines. He married Sarah 
J Tomlin on February 20, 1879. The funeral was Tuesday
