She was born Sept. 15, 1924, in St. Paris to the late Guy L. and Opal (Bennett) Apple. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Stockton of St Paris and Alberta Fields of Enfield, Conn.; numerous nieces and nephews; a cousin, Richard Stockton of Urbana; many special friends, including Roger and Deborah Deere, Jessica and Justin Deere and Norma Morgan, all of Urbana. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kermit Stockton. They were married May 15, 1966. He passed away Feb. 13, 1991. Margaret was a 1942 graduate of Johnson-St. Paris High School. She was a member of the Friends of the St. Paris Library, where she was employed since 1967. She also was a former employee of Hobart Manufacturing Co. in Troy, was a member of the Champaign County Humane Society and attended the Grafton United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1 1 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris with the Rev. Douglas Flinn of the Grafton United Methodist Church officiating.
