Mabel B. Taylor, 86, of St. Paris, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 
20, 2008, in Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana.
Mabel was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Joseph 
and Mary (Hamilton) Free. She married Charles L Taylor in 1939 and he preceded 
her in death on Oct. 3, 1979.
Mabel is survived by a daughter, Nancy Davis of Piqua; two sons, Larry Taylor 
of Troy and Robert Taylor of St. Paris; seven grandchildren, 17 great-
grandchildren and 10 great-great--"" grandchildren. She also is survived by 
three sisters, Sarah Stump, Elizabeth Thomas and Dorothy Thomas and one 
brother John Free all of Portsmouth.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two 
daughters, Barbara Taylor and Shirley (Kay) Smith; two grandsons, Ernie Davis 
and Sonny Eliah Taylor; and two sisters, Hazel Swartz and Nannie Free.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Atkins-Shively Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Nancy Hardin, Chaplain of the Mercy McAuley Center 
presiding. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral 
home
