The death of Mrs Gertie Stevens Thackery occurred at the home of her mother in 
Jackson Twp on Wednesday. She leaves a two week old baby, a thirteen year old 
daughter and her husband. The family lived on a neighboring farm to that of 
her late father. She was the daughter of Samuel D and Sarah Stevens, born in 
Jackson Twp on December 29, 1879, and died February 10, 1914, aged 34 years, 1 
month and 21 days. She married August 3, 1899 to Edward Thackery. Besides her 
immediate family, her mother, three brothers Walter, Warren and Warder Stevens 
and one sister, Mrs Asa Mumford survive her. Two children, Gladys E, aged 13 
and Martha Louise, 2 weeks old. The funeral service was conducted from Newson 
Chapel today. Interment made in Newson Cemetery
