WILKINS, Thomas Dale "Tom" 73, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 8, 
2009 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. He was born on November 25, 1935 in 
Woodstock, OH the son of Malcolm S. and Bethel A. (Hess) Wilkins. Tom served 
his country in the United States Army after graduation from High School. He 
then served 20+ years in the Air National Guard where he graduated from the 
United States Air Force Air University. He was employed at Kelsey Hayes 
Company (Speco) where he was a quality control inspector and was a NC/CNC 
programmer. Tom was a member of the Urbana United Methodist Church, the 
Masonic Lodge Harmony # 8 F & A.M., Champaign County Shrine Club, Antioch 
Temple Ambassadors, Urbana Chapter # 530 O.E.S., and various other fraternal 
organizations. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy (Dixon) 
Wilkins; sons, Randy D. (Gabrielle) Wilkins of Sierra Madre, CA and Rodney K. 
Wilkins of Urbana, OH; granddaughters, Lily and Audrey; sisters, Betty (Jack) 
Holt, Nancy (Jim) Jano, and Jean Rabe; his mother-in-law, Ruby Dixon; and 
numerous loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 
brother, Bill Wilkins; sister, Erma Dean Davis; brother-in-law, Al Rabe and 
father-in-law, George Dixon. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on 
Thursday, February 12, 2009 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana; where Masonic 
Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. A funeral service to Celebrate Tom's Life 
will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 in the Urbana United 
Methodist Church with Pastor John Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at 
Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana
