ILLIAMS, Cortis 77, of Urbana passed away Monday, January 19, 2009 in Mercy 
Memorial Hospital, Urbana, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on 
October 19, 1931 in Salyersville, KY the son of Lonnie and Frona (Jenkins) 
Williams. Cortis was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Fairborn, OH and 
worked for Navistar for 33 ½ years. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 
years, Martha; daughters, Helen Hall, Teresa (Terry) Jacobs both of Urbana, 
Sherry Lynn Harrison of GA, and Tammy (Stan) Gilliam of Urbana; son, Mike 
(Debra) Williams of Enon; grandchildren, Joey, Heather, Michael, Rachel, 
Angela, Matthew, Dusty, Brandon, Brittany, Mariah, Noah, Dexter, Alex, 
Charlyne, and Aaron; 12 great grandchildren; close friends Herbert and Irene 
Jenkins of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death 
by his parents. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 pm on 
Thursday, January 22, 2009 at VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, OH. A funeral 
service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2009 with Pastor Denver 
Cottel and Pastor Freddie Preston officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview 
Cemetery, Urbana.
