ALLEN, 41, a native of Springfield, died at the Washington Center Hospital, Washington, D. C., at 5:45 p.m. Friday. He was born October 30, 1926 in Springfield, the son of Harry and Lucille PYLE ALLEN, both of whom survive. He was a graduate of Springfield South High School, Class of 1944, and attended Ohio University. He served in the United States Navy, in 1949 he was technical director for the Springfield Civic Theater and was active in theater work in Columbus and Washington, D.c. At the time of his death he was an employee of The Scan Danish Furniture Co., in Washington, and prior to that had been employed by the Lazarus Department Store in Columbus for 13 years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. S. MARSHALL of Springfield, and one brother, the Rev. Donald Allen, Chaplain of University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich. His body will be brought to the Ingling Funeral Home in South Charleston and then to the Woods-Allgier Funeral Home, Springfield, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Virgil Hamilton will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that contributions may be made to the American cancer society.
