DONAVAN A severe and painful illness ended last eveninq accounts of his remarkable experience in the Battle of Bull Run. John A DONAVAN a well and favorable kncwn citizen of Springfield, died last evening at his residence No. 69 Pearl street. The cause of Mr. DONAVAN's illness may be traced back to the first battle of Bull Run July 23, 1861, having in this engagement, received wounds from the effects of which he has suffered through all the years since being a man of strong constitution, his death has bean thus long delayed till at last nature succumbed to the prolonged and painful struggle, and he passed quietly away surrounded by his friends and family. Mr. DONAVAN was born in Springfield Feb 5 1839.
