BURNS, 36, died Thursday about 8:20 a.m. at the Miami Valley hospital where he was removed some time ago from his residence, the Edgewood apts., Broadway and Edgewood av. He had been in failing health since September, 1928. He was graduated from Asbury college in Kentucky, a theological school, only three months before his health failed. He attended the school eight years, first taking his academic course there and then entering the theological school with the intention of going into the ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church. During his last year at college he served as instructor in ancient history. He was the son of Mrs. Minnie F. BURNS. Born in Springfield he lived in Dayton practically all his life. He was a member of St. Paul M. E. church. Besides his mother he leaves his sister, Mrs. Alva M. SMITH, and three brothers, W. J. BURNS of Dayton, and E. S. and G. D. BURNS of Pontiac, Mich. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
