Lewis Campbell Received Fatal Injuries Near South Fork. Lewis Campbell, aged about 26 years, was run down by a train near South Fork early yesterday morning and fatally injured. It is not known what train struck the unfortunate man. He was found by a trackwalker. His skull was fractured and both feet cut off. The injured man was removed to the Memorial hospital at Johnstown, where he died at 6 o'clock. In one of his pockets was found a copy of the Machinists' journal, and on the margin of one of the leaves was written the following: "My name is Lewis Campbell. My home is at No. 67 Lincoln avenue, Springfield, O., and my father is John Campbell. Send me to my home." The dead man was a fireman by occupation and had been working at Windber, Somerset county, for the Berwind-White Coal company from September 16 until Monday afternoon, when he was paid off. He received $12, of which amount but $3.58 were found. Additional Comments: I am not related to Lewis Campbell.
