CROWELL SET FOR FRIDAY. The funeral of John S Crowell, 71, banker, philanthropist and foudner of The Crowell Publishing Company, who died in Cincinnati on Wednesday, will be held Friday afternoon at three o'clock at the Convenant Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in the Ferncliff Cemetery. Mr Crowell's body was taken to his home at 1127 East High St Thursday afternoon. It arrived in this city Wednesday afternoon. He became a patient at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati last month in the hope of saving his life, an operation was performed but to no avail. For the last ten days, he had been unconscious. Mr. Crowell had become so emancipated during his long illness, that it has been deemed wise not to open the casket for friends in this city. It is expected that Rev. Dr. Charles Ryan Adams, pastor of the Covenant Church, will preach the funeral sermon. He is now out of the city on his vacation. He will probably be assited by Rev. Dr. E.P. Thompson, a former pastor of the old Second Presbyterian Church. Close friends and business associates will be pall bearers. They are: W.S. Thomas, George W Winger, Captain E.L. Buchwalter, General J. Warren Keifer, Colonel David King, Frank M Bookwalter, Scipio E Baker and H.S. Bradley. Announcement was made Thursday afternoon that the Crowell Publishing plant would be closed during Friday afternoon as a mark of respect to the memory of John S. Crowell.
