George W Crowell, 79, Succumbs in Dayton Hospital.
George W Crowell, 79, brother of the late John S Crowell, founder of the 
Crowell Publishing Co and former resident of Springfield, died at 7 pm Weds. in 
a private hospital in Dayton. The body was brought back to this city and taken 
to the Herr and Craver Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 pm 
Saturday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery. Friends are requested to 
please omit flowers. 
Mr Crowell leaves his widow, Mrs. Laura E Crowell; two children, Mrs Isabelle 
Clayton and Paul Crowell of this city and a sister, Miss Sarah Crowell of 
Louisville, KY. 
He was a member of the First Congregational-Christian Church. For a number of 
years he was identified with the Crowell Publishing Co.
