DUANE, 66, of 1872 Quincy rd., whose four local sons include to members of the Springfield Fire Division, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday in City Hospital, where he was admitted November 1. He was born April 15, 1893, in Coalton, 0H., the son of James and Edith KERN DUANE, and resided in Springfield more than 50 years. He was an employee of the old Springfield Street Railway and later was a bus driver for its successor, the Springfield City Lines. He had 37 years service when he retired in May, 1951, following a coronary seizure. For several years, Mr. DUANE was president and secretary- treasurer of Division 851, Amalgamated Association of Street and Railway Employees. He also held membership in Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow, Mabel S.; four sons, Victor E., William J., Marne R. and George W., all of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Marcella HARRIS and Mrs. Mona MARKELY, both of Springfield; two brothers, John W. DUANE, Springfield, and Everett DUANE, Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth YOUNG, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Julia RICHARDS, Akron, and Mrs. Mae ISNER, Richmond, vV.; 15 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Marne and George DUANE are members of the Springfield Fire Division. The body was taken to the Jackson- Lytle funeral home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, in charge of the Rev. Raymond R. Garrett, pastor. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to services.
