Louis GIDEON, sr., 68, of Dayton, a former Springfield resident, died at 10:30 
a.m. Friday in Miami Valley Hospital of a heart attack. He was born in 
Springfield but resided in Dayton for the past 30 years. He retired in 1960 as 
a steamfitter and was a member of Local No. 162 of Dayton. He is survived by 
his widow Clara B.; one son, Louis, R., of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Mary 
JOHNSON of Charleston, W.Va.; one sister, Mrs. Daisy HEIRONIUMUS of 
Springfield; one brother, Russell, of Springfield; five grandchildren and 
seven great-grandchildren. His body was taken to the Hoyne Funeral Home, 1817 
E. Third street, Dayton, where friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday. 
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the 
Rev. David Hugh officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield
