She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on August 11, 1937 the daughter of the late John Jones and Alma (Seymour) Whitman. Bev retired from Mercy Medical Center Laboratory after 15 years of service. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, the Pilot Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Rainbow Table. She had many special friends and memories from years spent at Lakewood Swim Club. The family wishes to thank Bev's many friends and staff at Mercy Medical Center Laboratory and the James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University especially Drs. David Cohn and Richard Gordon for their dedicated care during her illness. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jack Linkenhoker; two daughters, Beth Chaney of Independence, Kansas and Melissa (Jim) Blackmore of Bristol, Virginia; three granddaughters, Chelsea Chaney and Caroline and Gracyn Blackmore; brother, Jerry (Sherry) Jones of Parker, Texas; sister, June (Charles) Boatman of Houston, Texas; five nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mayme and Joe Huff and Marty and Ed Szempruch. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in St. Raphael Church with Fr. Dennis Caylor celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur G. James Cancer Center in memory of Beverly J. Linkenhoker, 300 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, Ohio, 43210.
