OBITUARY TEXT: Using Date of Death for Publication Date. Services for Walter D.
RAGAN, 81, of 2122 E. Third st. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
First Church of God, 3300 W. Third st., by The Rev. D. Ray Lovely and The Rev.
Henry J. Dodson. Friends may call at the Banta Funeral home, 3419 W. Third st.
from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.
Thursday. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. RAGAN, a decorator for
30 years and former employee of the City Railway Co., died at 8 a.m. Monday at
his home following a fall on a stairway. He was a member of the First Church of
God and the American Woodman Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Minnie; a daughter,
Mrs. Hazel L. ORT and a son, Arlo D. RAGAN, both of Dayton; a brother, George,
of Springfield; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Walter RAGAN, 81, a former Springfield resident, died at 8 a.m. Monday in his
home at 3122 E. Third st., Dayton. Mr. RAGAN had been a decorator at one time as
well as an employee of the City Railway Co. of Dayton. He had resided in St.
Petersburg, Fla., for many years and returned to Dayton in 1953. Survivors
include his widow, Minnie; one son, Arlo D., of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel
ORT of Dayton, and one brother, George D. RAGAN of Springfield. His body was
taken to the Banta funeral home. Services have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday in
the W. Third st. Church of God. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery,
