SHROADES, 84, of Beatty, died at 8:25 a.m. Friday at the home of his son, Harold W. Shroads, Dayton, where he had been residing the last three months. Although he had been in failing health several years, Mr. Shroads, a retired coffin maker, had been critically ill only a day. Born March 7, 1877, in Cedarville, his parents were George and Ann PFEISTER SHROADES. He had spent the greater part of his life in Beatty, where he was a member of the Emory Chapel Church. For fifty-two years, before his retirement seventeen years ago, Mr. SHROADS had been employed by the old Springfield Coffin Co., in which he owned stock. Besides his son he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Glenn a Dean LINDEMAN of Beatty; a sister, Mrs. Lean EVANS of National Rd., West of Springfield, a grandson; a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Yoder Funeral Rome, Yellow Springs, Sunday afternoon and evening. The body will be taken to the Beatty church at noon Monday where it will lie in state until services at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield. The 1870 Census, Clark Co, OH, Mad River Twp, pg. 131 lists William as age 03. Also the Clark C9-1900 census, Springfield pg 188a, lists his birth as Mar. 1867. His sister's obituary (Lena SHROADES EVANS), published their mother's name as Anna FEASTER.
