Thomas, 63, son of the late John H. and Mary Thomas, died suddenly at his home, 737 North Fountain avenue, about 8:45 o’clock Wednesday morning of acute indigestion. News of his death will come as a distinct shock to his many friends in this city. He was born in Clark county, and lived here all his life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lydia W. Thomas; three daughters, Mrs. Mary T. Burchfield, Mrs. Findley Gray and Miss Audrey Thomas, and two sons, Eugene and Wilson. He was a brother of W. S. Thomas, Mrs. A. N. Summers, and Mrs. Lewis P. Matthews, all of this city. He was a member of the Central M. E. church, and served on the official board. The funeral will be held Friday from the home. The burial will be made in Ferncliff cemetery. (NOTE: The newspaper incorrectly spelled Findlay’s name wrong in the above obituary. It was corrected in the following funeral notice.) Springfield Daily News, Thursday, December 22, 1921 Funeral Service Set for Friday Funeral services for Findlay B. Thomas who died Wednesday, will beheld Friday Afternoon at two o’clock at the residence, 737 North Fountain avenue. Rev. George W. Bunton, pastor of the Grace M. E. Church of Dayton will preach the funeral sermon. Rev. Bunton is an old friend of the family. The pallbearers will be: T. C. West, H. C. West, C. E. Weber, J. P. Duvall, David Lutz and Albert Frey.
