Deceased was well up to last Thursday when he was down town. Returning he complained of feeling unwell and took to his bed. Sunday he rapidly became worse and died at 7 o'clock last evening. He was one of the best known pioneer citizens of this county and went by the appellation of Squire Whiteley. He leaves a wife and daughter Miss Mary Whiteley and three brothers: Mssrs. Andrew Whiteley of South Fountain avenue, Joseph Andrew Whiteley of Donnelsville, and Abner Whiteley of Leavinworth, Kans. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made."
