DEED Essex Whitfield to David McCann  Book 97 page 100 Clermont, OH  1873

Know all Men by these Presents, that Essex Whitfield and Mary Whitfield his 
wife of the county of Clermont and State of Ohio in consideration of five 
hundred and twenty five dollars to him paid by David  McCann the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby Grant, Bargain, Sell and Convey to the 
said David MicCann his heirs and assigns, FOREVER.  The following described 
real Estate being inlot No 699 by subdivision of inlots no 56 and 57 in the 
town of New Richmond County of Clermont and State of Ohio being 85 feet front 
on Willow Street and running back an Eastern course 100 feet and parallel with 
Main Street and Quarry street and being the same width in rear as in front and 
lying on Willow Street.  Also the following piece of land and lot being the 
South end of inlot no 57 by said Subdivision commencing at the S W corner of 
the lot of Harriet Scott 30  1/ feet to a corner in the line of Arrilla Clay 
thence with line of said Clay 88 feet to the line of lot no 58 (being a 
Southern course) thence in a western course with the line of said lot no 58 
thirty and one half feet to another corner thence on a Northern course directly 
to the place of beginning, all of said land and lots being in the town of New 
Richmond county of Clermont and State of Ohio and all the ESTATE, TITLE AND 
INTEREST of the said Essex Whitfield either in law or equity of, in and to the 
said premises, together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same 
belonging, and all the rents, issues, and profits thereof; To Have and to Hold 
the same to the only proper use of the said David McCann his heirs and assigns, 
FOREVER, And the said Essex Whitfield for himself and his heirs, executors and 
administrators, do hereby COVENANT with the said David McCann his heirs and 
assigns that he is the true and lawful owner of the said premises, and has full 
power to convey the same; and the title, so conveyed is CLEAR, FREE, and 
UNINCUMBERED: and further, that he will WARRANT AND DEFEND the same against all 
claim, or claims, of all persons whomsoever.

In Witness Whereof, The said Essex Whitfield and Mary Whitfield who hereby 
releases all right and expectancy of Dower in the said premises, have hereunto 
set their hands and seals this (blank) day of (blank) in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and Seventy three.

Signed, Sealed and Acknowledged in Presence of Us: J. Tritt, Sylvester 
Whitfield. Signed Essex Whitfield, Mary Whitfield.

The State of Ohio County of Clermont.  Be it Remembered Than on the (blank) day 
of (blank) in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy three 
before me the subscriber a notary Public in and for said county personally came 
Essex Whitfield and Mary Whitfield his wife the grantors in the foregoing Deed, 
and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and 
deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.  And the said Mary Whitfield 
wife of the said Essex Whitfield being examined by me separate and apart from 
her said husband and the contents of said deed being by me made known and 
explained to her as the statute directs, declared that she did voluntarily 
sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she is well satisfied therewith, 
as her act and deed, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.  

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my Notarial
