This Indenture, made the 23 day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, between Jacob White of the first part, and William McCan of the second part, Witnesseth that the said party of the first . . . for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars, lawful money of the United States to him in hand well and truly paid by the said William McCan the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said William McCan his heirs and assigns forever all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the Town of New Richmond situate as follows it being a part of Lot known on the recorded plat of said town by number 94 it being the upper half of said lot containing forty-one feet and three inches on Market Street and eighty-seven back with right angles with Market Street And all the estate right, title, interest, claim and demand of the said Jacob White in and to the said premises, and every part Thereof, together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging, or in any wise appertaining; and the rents, issues and profits whereof; to have and to hold the premises hereby bargained and sold or meant or intended so to be, with the appurtenances to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said William McCan his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Jacob White for himself his heirs, executors and administrators, doth promise, covenant and agree to and with the said William McCan, heirs, executors and administrators and assigns that he is the true and lawful owner of the premises hereby granted and has good right, full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid; And further, that he the said Jacob White for himself his heirs executors and administrators will Warrant and forever Defend the aforesaid premises with their appurtenances, and every part and parcel thereof unto the William McCan his heirs and assigns, against all persons claiming or to claim by from or under him., them or any of them; or by, from or under any other person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said Jacob White (together with Rhoda White his wife, who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in the premises) have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in Presence of Thomas B Ashburn, William J Rust.   Signed by Jacob White, Rhoda White. The State of Ohio Clermont County. Before me the undersigned, one of the Notary Publics within and for said county, personally appeared Jacob White and Rhoda White his wife and severally acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above Indenture to be their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned; and the said Rhoda White being examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of the above deed being by me made known to her declared that she did voluntarily sign and seal and acknowledge the same and that she is still satisfied therewith.
