MARION O. RUPE. Wilmington, Ohio - Marion O. (Po) Rupe, 61, of 927 Laurel St., died at 6 p.m. Sunday in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Dayton. Mr. Rupe was born May 6, 1924, in Gallia, Ohio, to Selby Ernest and Mabel Rife Rupe. He was employed by Clinton County Highway Department, a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6710, Wilmington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Violet A. Rupe. Surviving is his wife, the former T. Evelyn Shepard, whom he married March 17, 1948; two sons, Richard Stanforth Rupe and Selby Ernest Rupe, both of Wilmington; three grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley M. Rupe, of Cheshire, and Lawrence A. Rupe, of Waynesville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Galen Brown officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday after 2 p.m., where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. VFW Post will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
