A little time later Dr McK was brought back by Pvt Barr in a badly "shook up" conditon. I was informed that Dr McKenzie in the darkness had stumbled in a pit where store had been quarried and taken out by Pvt Barr. Dr McK complained of injuries in the head and perhaps elsewhere. I observed immediately therafter he became somewhat deaf and this continued gradually to grow worse as long as I knew him until Dec 1862. Signed Laurin D. Woodworth Leut Major 104th O.V.I.
