Mrs. Anderson was the eldest daughter of William Warrick, deceased, and sister to Mrs. Susan Harker and Mrs. Richard Thomas, of this city, also half sister to Mrs. U.D. Scott, of New York State, Mrs. R.D. Boyd and Mr. Joseph Warrick, of this city. In the year 1849, November 12, she was united in marriage to Mr. Thomas Anderson, to this union was born eight children; four of which preceed her to the spirit land. Those remaining to mourn her loss are her husband, two daughters and two sons, viz: Mrs. D.A. Naugle, of Princeton, Ill; Mrs. Maria S. Ramsey, of Wellsville, John E. Anderson, of this city and George T. Anderson, of Cleveland, all of whom were at her bedside during her illness. Mrs. Anderson was a woman of great common sense and exercised a judgement in the common affairs of life that was above the average. She had a keen perception of right and wrong and a strong will to do what she saw to be right. As a church member she was most consistent and devoted in every good word and work she was ever ready to assist and exemplify a true Christian character. Almost from the first organization of the Presbyterian church in this city she has been a faithful, conscientious member. In the Sunday school she was an untiring teacher gathering in the little ones and pointing them to her Saviour whom she always loved and delighted to honor, and in recent years she was loath to be absent from her Bible class. Also in the missionary society and general work of the church her constant desire was to do all to the glory of God. All through her brief illness the earnest wish of her heart was “Thy will O, Lord, not mine, be done.” Thus a good and useful life has gone out to mingle with the glorified in that haven of rest, and the world is better for her having lived in it: and at the end she peacefully fell asleep.
