Dawson, the well-known oil and gas well contractor of Georgetown, died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock of typhoid fever, after an illness of only three weeks. Deceased was exceedingly well known in this city and this portion of the country – owning several wells, and having done a large business for some years past in oil and gas well drilling. He was universally respected and admired. He was aged about thirty-five years, and leaves a wife and three children. The aged parents are both living at Georgetown. The funeral will take place from the late home in Georgetown at 2 o’clock tomorrow; burial at Georgetown cemetery. Deceased was a member of Smith’s Ferry Lodge, Junior Mechanics.
