William Dawson, one of Smith’s Ferry’s oldest residents, died at his home in 
that place at 12 o’clock last night, after a lingering illness. Deceased was 
born in the vicinity of his late home, and had spent all his life in the 
immediate neighborhood. His was aged sixty-five years and leaves a wife and 
four children. One son, James, is a brakeman on the Cleveland and Pittsburgh 
road, while another son and two daughters live at the family home. The funeral 
service takes place at 11 o’clock tomorrow at the Glasgow Presbyterian church.
